Skiing/Snowboarding
With 6,100 feet of vertical (second only to Whistler), Canoe Mountain is the sole downhill area in the Cariboos and offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding for all abilities – well past the point when other mountains close for the season. In early May, over 1.5 meters of snow remains at the mountain’s mid-elevation point, with even more glorious powder still present at the top of this massive peak.
Beginners and novices can enjoy perfect fall-line skiing in the area serviced by the lower section of the gondola, while six trails on the upper mountain promise awesome fresh-powder skiing experiences for intermediate to advanced skiers and riders.
All trails funnel into a ski-in/ski-out pedestrian village, where shops, restaurants and recreational areas provide the perfect venue for pre- and après-ski pursuits. Those wishing to hone their skills can do so in The Elevations Learning Centre –Canoe Mountain Resort’s ski academy, which is staffed by a team of certified professionals and located adjacent to the Pathfinder’s Landing dining room.
